Aluminium Extrusion of custom-designed aluminium profiles
One of Groppalli DEA’s key services is the customised extrusion of aluminium profiles to the customer’s specifications, manufactured from the 6000 series aluminium alloys best suited to each project. Every project is managed by our technical department, from the feasibility study right through to the choice of alloy, in order to optimise costs and manufacturing times. Customer confidentiality is a fundamental principle: the extrusion dies are developed and used exclusively for each client.
What does it involve?
From the design to the finished profile, in three stages
The bespoke extrusion process consists of three main stages, all managed in-house to ensure quality control and continuity throughout the entire production cycle.
- Project analysis — review of the technical drawing provided by the client to assess its feasibility. On request, our technical department supports the client with project optimisation or any necessary modifications.
- Design and engineering — once feasibility has been confirmed, the aluminium extrusion die is designed and manufactured in accordance with the customer’s proprietary drawings.
- Aluminium Extrusion and finishing — extrusion of the profile, generally from 6000 series aluminium alloys with various heat treatment conditions (T4, T5, T6, T66) in accordance with specifications. On request, we can develop customised heat treatments to achieve specific mechanical properties.

Where are made-to-measure profiles used?
Bespoke extruded aluminium profiles are used in a vast range of products and industrial sectors, often incorporated into structures where they perform a structural function that is not visible. A profile with a specific geometry can be used as a heat sink or a radiator for heating; other profiles are used in lifts and stairlifts, in automotive fittings, in photovoltaic anchoring systems and in Groppalli-branded aluminium windows & shutters.

6000 series aluminium alloys
For bespoke profiles, we use various 6000 series aluminium alloys, selected on a case-by-case basis according to the requirements of the application. Each alloy undergoes a specific ageing process and meets certified metallurgical conditions: T4, T5, T6 and T66.
- 6060 — high extrudability and excellent surface quality, ideal for applications requiring surface treatments with high aesthetic appeal
- 6082 and 6005 — harder alloys, for sectors requiring high corrosion resistance and improved mechanical performance in terms of torsion and yield strength
- 6101 — specific chemical composition for applications in the field of electrical conductivity
